SAM LO / ARTIST / SINGAPORE
Sam Lo (b.1986) is a Singaporean artist whose practice has developed across street culture, painting, sculpture, murals, public art, commercial commissions and large-scale cultural projects. Since 2008, his work has moved between different systems of image-making and meaning-making from the street and popular culture to institutions, commerce and national spectacle.
His current practice investigates how culture is produced and how societies continually negotiate meaning, identity, memory and belonging. The work explores the systems that shape collective life and the ways they can be observed, questioned and reimagined.

ABOUT
Using Singapore as both context and lens, Sam Lo explores how communities negotiate recognition, connection, and agency amid the forces of urbanisation, consumer culture, and social change. Working across painting, installation, interventions, and participatory projects, he examines the social and symbolic systems through which identities, memories, desires, and collective narratives are formed and transformed.
